The word “STEM” is becoming an increasingly popular buzzword for many students, as the demand for this skill set only continues to rise across many industries. So what’s the big deal?

STEM degrees encompass those that fall under the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields, hence the acronym. For over a decade, the U.S. Department of Labor has recognized an exponentially growing need for STEM-related training. STEM is key to innovation and job creation in the United States today, making it a highly sought career path for college students.

With so many students seeking such degrees, the number of scholarships aimed at them are generous and far reaching. We’ve compiled a list of scholarships made especially for students at the forefront of innovation and progress.

Regeneron Science Talent Search

Overview: The Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science competition for high school seniors, providing an important forum for original research that is recognized and reviewed by a national jury of professional scientists.

Award: $2,000

Deadline: November 13, 2019 at 8pm


Masergy STEM Scholarship Program 

Overview: There is no denying the importance of STEM studies in today’s world. That’s why for the past few years Masergy has awarded scholarships to innovative students as they worked toward their STEM-related undergrad or graduate degrees.

Award: $5,000

Deadline: December 15, 2019 


Dronethusiast $500 Women in Science UAV Scholarship

Overview: Dronenthusiasts are happy to give back to female students who are choosing to pursue science. Why drones? Drones are important when it comes to operations such as search and rescue, geography and mapping, along with having some good leisure time flying with friends.

Award: $500

Deadline: December 1, 2019 


Graduate Cybersecurity Scholarship

Overview: Graduate students often need funding to conduct special research projects or assistance with tuition and fees; the (ISC)² Graduate Scholarship Program helps grad students achieve those goals. Up to 20 scholarships will be awarded.

Award: Each scholarship award will be between $1,000 – $5,000.

Deadline: November 1, 2019


Rise Marketing Scholarship

Overview: Rise created a scholarship to support hard-working students in their ambitious goals for a better career and future. Undergraduate or graduate students interested in applying for our scholarship have to major in a STEM subject and attend an accredited college or university.

Award: $1,000 towards degree, two runner-ups: $250 towards books

Spirit of Ramanujan STEM Talent Initiative

Overview: In order to honor the legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Spirit of Ramanujan STEM Talent Initiative supports emerging engineers, mathematicians, and scientists who lack traditional institutional support through financial grants and mentorship opportunities.

Award: Receive up to $5,000

20 Potential Scholarships for the Top 10 Academic Majors

Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program

Overview: As a leading custom service provider specialized in the field of antibody production and engineering, Creative Biolabs is always happy to support young and ambitious talents in our field. In an effort to further support their research and higher education in the medical and science-related field, Creative Biolabs is proud to announce its 2019 Scholarship Program for awarding $1,000 to an outstanding college student.

Award: $1,000 for an outstanding student

Deadline: The two rounds submission will end on June 15, 2019 and July 20, 2019, respectively.


The 2019 Simplr Artificial Intelligence and Technology Scholarship

Overview: Simplr is offering a scholarship to a passionate and deserving student who submits a winning essay in our specialized scholarship contest encompassing artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain technology and Intellectual Property (IP) law. Applications for the 2019-2020 academic year are now being accepted.

Award: $7,500

ABC Humane Wildlife Academic Scholarship – Women In STEM

Overview: As a woman-owned corporation operating in a largely male field, we understand the remarkable impact women can have. We want to pave the way for other women pursuing their dreams in the scientific world, which is why ABC Wildlife is introducing a scholarship designed to increase the number of women studying and influencing the future of science, including technology, engineering and math.

Award: $1,000

The Women in Aerospace Foundation Scholarship

Overview: The WIA Foundation is pleased to provide scholarships to women interested in a career in the aerospace field to pursue higher education degrees in engineering, math or science. One or more awards will be given each year to a rising senior in college, to be applied during the upcoming academic year.

Award: $2,000

Olin E. Teague Scholarship

Overview: The National Space Club and Foundation offers a scholarship each year in memory of the Honorable Olin E. Teague, a Representative in Congress who aggressively supported our national space program, to encourage talented young people to pursue careers in aerospace fields. The scholarship, in the amount of $4,000.00, is awarded to a graduating high school senior at an accredited U.S. high school. The student must be a U.S. Citizen. This scholarship program is intended to encourage talented young people to pursue careers in aerospace fields.

AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship

Overview: We believe that what’s good for students is good for everyone: schools, employers, community, and other students! That’s why we not only help students find jobs & internships, but also offer scholarships to help fund their education. AfterCollege has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships and student activities through our program to date.

Award: $500

Deadline: June 30, 2019


National GEM Consortium Fellowships

Overview: GEM’s fellowship programs span the entire recruitment, retention, and professional development spectrum. GEM’s principal activity is the provision of graduate fellowships at the MS and PhD levels coupled with paid summer internships . GEM also offers fellowships without paid summer internships through our GEM University and Associate Fellowship programs.


  • $4,000 living stipend per full-time semester up to 4 semesters ($8K per academic year – 3 quarters)
  • Up to two paid summer internships with a GEM Employer Member
  • Full tuition and fees provided by a GEM University Member

AIAA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships Program (Multiple Scholarships)

Overview: To help support our future aerospace professionals, the AIAA Foundation annually awards financial aid to undergraduate and graduate students in science or engineering programs. In the past 20 years, the AIAA Foundation has provided over 750 scholarships and graduate awards to students at more than 150 colleges and universities worldwide.

The RevPart 2020 STEM Scholarship

Overview: Any student majoring in a STEM field that is attending an accredited college may apply. The 2020 scholarship winner will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student to be used towards their degree. RevPart will also be offering a book scholarship for the first and second runner-up.

Award: One $1,000 award and two $250 awards

Women and Minorities STEM Scholarship

Overview: Atkins Women and Minorities STEM Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis and recipients are chosen by selection committees made up of Atkins senior professional, management, and human resources staff. Selection is based on academic achievement, personal qualities and strengths, and letters of recommendation.

2019 BluePay STEM Scholarship

Overview: Payment processing is already driven and enabled by technology. Successful execution in the future of payments requires educated minds that focus on both business goals and cutting edge innovation. As an industry leader, BluePay is continuing our support of students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines.

2019 Straight North STEM Scholarship

Overview: With Internet marketing becoming more complex and challenging by the day, successful execution requires a solid education. As an industry leader, Straight North supports students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. Through the Straight North STEM Scholarship, we award the winning student $1,000 to be used toward his or her degree. In addition, we award $250 book scholarships to the two runners-up.

Veteran Car Donations Annual Scholarship

Overview: With an increasingly complex and demanding world, successful solutions to our nation’s (and our world’s) problems require a solid education. As a leader in nonprofit fundraising, Veteran Car Donations sees, up close, the many issues facing today’s society.What better way to help combat these problems, than to help pave the way for tomorrow’s leaders? To put our money where our mouth is, we are announcing the 2019 Veteran Car Donations Annual College Scholarship – supporting students pursuing STEM-related degrees.

Award: $1,000 and two $250 textbook scholarships to runner-ups.

Empathy for Animals (EFA) Scholarship Award

Overview: The Pet Life Today (PLT) Empathy for Animals Veterinary Scholarship Award (2019-2020) is open to veterinary students enrolled in veterinary studies, animal sciences or a similar undergraduate program at an accredited university, and is awarded annually in the amount of $500.

24 NO ESSAY Scholarships for the Class of 2020

The Dr. Adawia Alousi STEM Scholarship Fund for Muslim Women

Overview: The Dr. Adawia Alousi STEM Scholarship Fund for Muslim Women was established in order to carry on the accomplishments of Dr. Adawia Alousi, a true renaissance woman. The Fund supports Muslim women in obtaining education within STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields – placing highest priority on immigrants and refugees. Our hope is that beneficiaries of the Fund will rise to the top, epitomize excellence in their respective fields, and carry Dr. Alousi’s spirit of generosity forward.

Award: Between $2,500 and $10,000 per student for undergraduates, and up to $10,000 for graduate students.

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarship

Overview: With over 10,000 active members including over 8,000 student members, SHPE serves 178 student and 54 professional chapters.  Our primary goal in scholarships is to fill the gap in the Hispanic education pipeline from K-12 education to successful career placement as well as advanced degree offerings in STEM fields. For the 2018-2019 academic year, SHPE provided over $340,000 in scholarships, and we plan to increase this for the 2019-2020 academic year!

Overview: Qualifying STEM majors related to the mission of AFCEA include: Biometry/Biometrics, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics Science, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Resource Management, Intelligence, Mathematics, Network Engineering, Network Security, Operations, Research, Physics, Robotics Engineering, Robotics Technology, Statistics, Strategic Intelligence, and Telecommunications Engineering.
