The University of Mount Olive has become one of the most unique and fastest-growing universities in North Carolina. Transformational experiences also occur outside the classroom in student organizations, professional and collegiate clubs, performing groups, internships, and community service opportunities. Students have the opportunity to compete on 20 highly competitive NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic teams. The baseball team gained national recognition as the 2008 NCAA Division II Baseball National Champions.

HONORS PROGRAM
The Honors program gives students with outstanding high school achievements the opportunity to learn and be intellectually challenged in a community with other scholars. Honors students participate in an academic enrichment program of seminars, forums, and projects. Throughout the program, students study the global aspect of classical literature and writing and decide which country they want to visit. The program culminates in a ten-day international trip to the country studied.
INTERNSHIP AND RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
Students at the University of Mount Olive are able to gain real-world experience from internships and research projects within their field of study. Internships are required in several majors, providing students the opportunity to apply practical knowledge in their day-to-day experiences. Research projects also provide students an opportunity to work hand-in-hand with faculty members in their field of study as they gain experience that will benefit their future studies and career.

The University of Mount Olive has awarded more than 20,000 degrees since its founding in 1951. Students arrive on campus to learn, listen, and explore the possibilities and opportunities of faith and education. THE RIGHT START
In the first-year experience course, students explore a number of topics to help them adjust to college life and prepare them for successful futures. Students learn skills that assist them in assimilating to campus and community as well as how to navigate the technology used in courses.

The University of Mount Olive is committed to providing every student with a quality education in a safe and rewarding environment. Faculty serve both as experts within their area of study as well as mentors to their students as they prepare for successful careers. Classes are small and taught by professors who want to see each student develop into their personal best. The faculty-to-student ratio is 15:1, allowing for personal interaction between students and their professors.

CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT
The University of Mount Olive’s beautiful, 138-acre campus is nestled in the rural community of Mount Olive, North Carolina.
Freshmen are required to live on campus, and students have the opportunity to reside in residence halls and apartment-style housing. By living on campus, students are in close walking distance from all the resources at the University.
The University of Mount Olive currently educates over 3,430 students, including more than 1,000 students in the traditional day-time program. The male-to-female ratio for traditional students is 8:9.
SPIRITUAL LIFE
As a denominational ministry of the Original Free Will Baptists, the University of Mount Olive is committed to educating the student mentally, physically, and spiritually. Weekly chapel services are held, though not required. Several student-led groups are also available to help students grow in their faith and leadership.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
The Campus Activities Board offers fun on-campus activities such as movie nights, socials, and fun games. Off-campus trips have included sporting events, skiing trips, and theatre outings.A wide variety of student organizations provide students the opportunity to get involved and learn leadership skills. The University’s clubs and organizations include performance groups, student-run interest groups, and organizations sponsored by various departments on campus.

Mount Olive is 60 miles southeast of the capital city of Raleigh and 75 miles northwest of the coastal town of Wilmington.
ATHLETICS
The University of Mount Olive is a member of Conference Carolinas and competes on the NCAA Division II level. Student athletes compete in 20 intercollegiate athletic sports including baseball, softball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Cheerleading is also available.
