“There’s a wide variety of people here, all in different places in their spiritual walk. So there are people that can help you grow… and people that you can help as they grow. MENTORSHIP
One of the greatest parts of the SEU experience is the close, one-on-one mentoring that faculty love to give. From faculty to staff to coaches, SEU has no shortage of people who are ready to guide students in their academic and spiritual walk alike.
FACULTY
Ask any SEU student or alum to say who made the biggest impact on their lives throughout their college-aged years, and the majority will say the same thing—SEU faculty. That’s because these professors see students not as tanks to fill with knowledge, but as individual souls to be nurtured and guided.
As authentic Christians who lead by example, SEU faculty members voluntarily use their own time to provide students with support and true caring. While they are highly accomplished in their fields and bring practical experience to the classroom, they are also effective teachers who make learning engaging and meaningful.
“Our classes are led by faculty who challenge our students academically and spiritually.” – Dr. Bill Hackett, Provost

SCHOOL LOCATION
One of the many things students love about SEU is its Central Florida location in the city of Lakeland. It’s a prime place to study and love life, surrounding the community with palm trees and abundant sunshine—even when the rest of the country still has winter weather! Lakeland has just the right balance of hometown connectivity and city-based excitement.
SEU is also centrally located near some of the nation’s best beaches as well as such theme parks as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Busch Gardens.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
In the spring of 2018, SEU Fire Baseball made school history by becoming the first SEU team to secure a national title—they won the NAIA World Series! And after the series, 3 players were chosen in the 2018 MLB Draft.
ATHLETICS
The Fire compete in the NAIA in 16 sports, 14 of which belong to the Sun Conference. Football and wrestling compete in the Mid-South Conference. SEU has won multiple conference championships in the past few years. In fact, in the 2017-18 season, the Fire women’s basketball team was ranked No. 1 nationwide.
2017-18 Fire Athletics Highlights

ACCELERATION TO SUCCESS
SEU offers 4+1 Degree Programs, which enables students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in just a total of five years. These accelerated programs for Business, Education, and Social Work allow driven students not only to save money, but also time as they take off into their dream professions.
Beyond these three fields, SEU equips students in every field with the tools and paths they need for a bright future. For instance, students can enjoy guaranteed acceptance to medical school in the University’s cooperation with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
“If you could look at the DNA of my heart and soul, you’d see influencers from SEU all over it. I am who I am because of SEU.” – Kendall Altmyer, ‘13 & ’15
