College Highlights
A GOLDEN INTRODUCTION
New ORU students take flight the minute they step on campus. The Golden Eagle Orientation, ORU’s immersive first-year experience, is loaded with activities that instantly make the University feel like home. Freshmen immediately get in touch with their peers, their faculty, and all the resources they’ll need as college students. Through interactive informational sessions, everyone gets a firm grasp on how and where to access different facilities so that they are well prepared for both academic and personal challenges.
Not only is the Golden Eagle Orientation jam-packed with information, but it’s also a wildly fun rush of activities. One of the best campus-wide events of the year, Partiestival (a party and festival—double the fun!) kicks off the school year with carnival rides and plenty of free food and prizes. With such a dynamic start to the school year, it’s no wonder freshmen so quickly find their place in the ORU community.

FACULTY OF FAITH AND SCHOLARSHIP
Oral Roberts University employs faculty who love God and who prioritize their students before their own individual pursuits. As a Christ-centered educational institution, the University emphasizes providing a Whole Person education to tomorrow’s professionals, launching Whole Leaders for the whole world. The faculty, who are leaders themselves, inspire their students with the knowledge they gained from such institutions as Yale and Harvard as well as such companies as Microsoft and NASA.
As faculty continue to grow, so too do their students; ORU students enjoy close relationships with their teachers, hands-on internships with their professors’ peers, and the chance to discover new things as assistants in faculty-led research. Additionally, ORU students and faculty take full advantage of the University’s new Global Learning Center, a state-of-the-art educational facility that utilizes Augmented and Virtual Reality (AVR) to deepen the learning experience while simultaneously making it more fun!
SPIRITUAL LEADERS
A radiating sense of spirituality is palpable the moment one steps on campus. The ORU community is alive with faith and leadership, inspiring everyone to pursue spiritual growth, find their calling, and work for the Kingdom of God. And because so many students have a passion for discipleship, spiritual guidance is often available literally right next door.
Through the Chaplain Program, every wing of ORU housing is appointed a student chaplain who helps foster a compassionate, supportive environment among their residents. As guiding faith leaders, these chaplains are committed to forming close relationships with their floormates, all while nurturing the community’s passion for God. Their regularly organized devotions, prayer, and other activities ensure that students always have a community to turn to.
SCHOOL LOCATION
Situated on its own 263-acre campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA), ORU offers a secure, safe, and enriching environment to its diverse population of over 4,000 undergraduate students. The University is strategically located within minutes of most Tulsa attractions, including the city’s burgeoning downtown area and Tulsa’s new world-renowned riverfront park The Gathering Place, with additional easy access to ample off-campus activities and study areas.
ATHLETICS
ORU has 14 NCAA Division I athletic teams for men and women, including baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, volleyball, tennis, cross country, and track and field. The ORU Golden Eagles compete in the Summit League and have had numerous athletes named as All-Americans.
HOLISTIC GROWTH
Though every student has their own individual academic and career goals, ORU knows there are key features of a college education that are necessary for anyone to succeed as a well-rounded, global citizen. No matter their area of study, each student is evaluated based on the Whole Person Assessment (WPA). These standards reflect the outcomes that are ingrained in the University’s mission, ensuring that everyone who receives an ORU education has been fulfilled holistically to become spiritually alive, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, socially adept, and professionally competent. Oral Roberts University is not just an institution at which to study; it is a community in which one can become the best version of oneself.
