The mission of Bethel University, affiliated with the Missionary Church, is to transform communities through Christ-centered graduates. Bethel’s liberating academic programs challenge the mind, enlarge the vision, and equip the whole person for lifelong service.
Students are challenged to explore multiple perspectives in a wide variety of topics, all from a Christian worldview. The campus is centrally located so that students may work, serve, and play in the nearby urban and natural environments alike. Offering over 50 areas of study, Bethel University has made an impact in many ways on many lives.
Bethel’s impact is characterized through strong academics, spiritual formation, mentoring, and relationships. In fact, seven out of ten residential students are engaged in one-on-one or small-group mentoring with faculty and staff.
Bethel’s 20,000 alumni occupy 49 states and 64 world areas, and those who apply enjoy a medical school acceptance rate double the national average as well as a 100% job placement rate in Nursing (whose program was ranked No. 7 in the United States). What’s more, Bethel boasts a Top 4% national score in competitive math performance tests and a 100% pass rate every year on the national performance standard for a unique academic major in American Sign Language.

College Highlights
TASK FORCE
Every Bethel University student has the opportunity to venture out into the world and take part in Task Force Teams, charitable missions that serve areas of need across the globe. Task Force trips are two weeks in length—short enough for any service-driven student to take time out of their schedule, yet long enough for them to effect enormous change while enjoying a breathtaking foreign culture.
Some of the most recent Task Force Teams have gone on to Kenya to nurture orphaned children, France to contribute to the marketing of a tourist activism ministry, and Indonesia to provide healthcare and resources to underprivileged neighborhoods.

INNOVATION
In their continual pursuit to support the success of their students, Bethel faculty have committed to a university-wide mission of innovative leadership. The issues and demands of society are changing as rapidly as ever, and it is through an up-to-date education that professors may best prepare their students for whatever life throws at them. Bethel has been sending driven faculty to leadership retreats at which they learn to shake themselves free from the rigid patterns of higher education, paving the way for new ideas and strategies to make the University a springboard for change.
Bethel University faculty embrace the fact that innovation is a messy process of trial and error that ultimately leads to bigger and better things—better ways to affect the community, better ways to learn, and better ways to live out God’s message. Bethel faculty work together across disciplines to exchange ideas and engage their students, forming new classes and programs that take Christian higher education to the next level.

SPIRITUAL LIFE
At the core of all that Bethel does is a committed focus on each student’s spiritual development. The university is dedicated to building lives of commitment for leadership in the church and the world. Spiritual growth is nurtured at chapel (the heartbeat of Bethel) twice per week as well as in small group gatherings that plunge students deeper into their walk with God. Beyond the opportunities to grow in community through residence hall and small group Bible studies, students can also be the hands and feet of Christ through events like Bethel’s annual Service day.

NURSING SIMULATION
Nursing students have the incredible advantage of a brand-new simulation lab. This lab features two critical care hospital rooms and high-tech patient simulators that function and respond to students’ care in a realistic way. Through these simulations, students are able to practice urgent procedures in a low-risk environment. Nursing students who study at Bethel learn to remain calm and make calculated decisions in dire situations, skills that cannot be obtained simply by sitting in a lecture hall. They graduate a step ahead of the curve, level headed and ready to provide compassionate and effective care.
