Lipscomb University is a private coeducational institution in Nashville, Tennessee. Its primary mission is to integrate Christian faith and practice with academic achievement, which the entire campus community carries out not only in the classroom but also through numerous services to the church and surrounding neighborhood.

Lipscomb University offers students a wide range of opportunities to study abroad, serve, participate in mission trips, gain valuable experience through internships, and explore their discipline with research.
LIPSCOMB ABROAD
Each spring and summer, over 600 Lipscomb students travel across the country and to six continents on mission trips to enact such outstanding service as building wells, installing solar power arrays, running medical clinics, building homes, teaching English, caring for orphans and, ultimately, sharing God’s love.
Lipscomb offers study abroad programs and courses in Chile, Austria, China, Italy, Spain, Israel, Greece, and many others through the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities.
SALT
Lipscomb integrates “Service and Learning Together,” hence the name of its institution-wide program, SALT. All students participate in at least two SALT courses or experiences, exposing them to the wonders that come with applying their knowledge to the aid of others. Lipscomb’s SALT program has received national recognition from the President’s Higher Education Service Honor Roll, US News & World Report, and Beyond the Books.

ENGAGED FACULTY
The faculty at Lipscomb University make students their first priority. Classes are small—usually 20 to 30 students—so professors are able to get to know students on a personal level. They make a point to be accessible after class and often act as individual mentors.
All classes at Lipscomb University are taught by professors and never graduate assistants.
Faculty are frequently involved in the lives of their students beyond the classroom. Many faculty members lead spring break and summer mission trips, service-learning experiences, and serve as sponsors for student organizations.

SPIRITUAL LIFE ON CAMPUS
Lipscomb University believes that spiritual growth is just as important as academic achievement. Every Tuesday and Thursday, the entire campus sets time aside to come together for worship and to be challenged by dynamic speakers.
CAMPUS EVENTS
Lipscomb University is a focal point of the Nashville community, the Southeast, and beyond. Each year, the university hosts a wide variety of speakers and such events as the Green Business Summit, The Christian Scholars Conference, Nashville Business Breakfasts, The Southeastern Conflict Management Conference, and many others. Special speakers, films, plays, concerts, and cultural events are brought to campus on a weekly basis through an array of Lipscomb’s clubs and leadership organizations.

Lipscomb’s great location just 10 minutes from downtown Nashville affords students easy access to a tremendous number of educational, professional, cultural, and entertainment opportunities. Additionally, the university provides all of its students with a free, year-round Nashville Metro bus pass to ensure that they can take advantage of all the city has to offer.

Lipscomb University students graduate with the education, preparation, and sense of purpose to take on whatever God has in store for them. The university is determined to help its students seek out God’s will for their lives and be servants and scholars of integrity. All Lipscomb students graduate having completed at least 18 hours of study in ethics, spiritual disciplines, biblical history, and the life of Jesus.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Consistently, over 90% of Lipscomb University’s graduates find a job or enroll in graduate school within six months of graduation. Such success is a given thanks to each program’s innovative curriculum. Some departments go even further to promote post-graduate success; for example, Lipscomb sponsors an annual entrepreneurs competition in which students can present their business ideas and win funds they can use to help start their business.
