College Highlights
REAL-WORLD HEALTHCARE EDUCATION
At Clarkson, students engage with their chosen field early and often. The college’s location on the Nebraska Medicine campus means that clinical exposure and professional networking are built into the fabric of daily academic life. Many students begin making meaningful contributions to patient care well before graduation, gaining the kind of hands-on experience that distinguishes Clarkson graduates in the workforce.
INTERPROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
Healthcare is inherently collaborative, and Clarkson’s curriculum reflects that. Through its Interprofessional Education (IPE) program, students from different disciplines work alongside one another, learning to communicate across roles and coordinate care the way real clinical teams do. This cross-disciplinary training prepares graduates to thrive in the complex, team-based environments that define modern healthcare.
SIMULATION AND TECHNOLOGY
The college’s Interprofessional Simulation Center gives students a controlled environment to practice clinical skills before interacting with real patients. The center allows students to rehearse critical decision-making in high-pressure scenarios, building confidence as a healthcare worker. Clarkson’s 3D Printing Center adds another dimension to this hands-on approach, offering students access to emerging medical technology that is rapidly reshaping healthcare delivery.
ACADEMIC TRAVEL ABROAD
Clarkson’s Academic Travel Abroad program offers short trips that pair an academic course with guided exploration of healthcare systems, history, and culture in countries across the world. Past destinations have included Austria, Japan, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, and Switzerland, among others. Each itinerary includes visits with local medical professionals, giving students a firsthand look at how healthcare is practiced in different cultural contexts, alongside time for historical and cultural excursions and self-directed exploration. Trips run in May and December, making participation accessible for students across programs, and course credit can be applied toward graduation requirements. Scholarship funding is available to help make the experience financially accessible as well.

FACULTY WHO PRACTICE WHAT THEY TEACH
Clarkson’s faculty are not only experienced educators; many are practicing clinicians who bring real-world expertise directly into the classroom. Students benefit from instruction grounded in both academic rigor and active professional experience, ensuring that what they learn in the classroom reflects what they will encounter in the field.
A FOCUSED CURRICULUM
With nine fields and twenty majors, all oriented toward healthcare, Clarkson offers a curriculum with clear direction and a shared professional identity. Programs span nursing; radiography and medical imaging; physical therapist assistant studies; healthcare administration and management; health information management; community health; psychology; and education and leadership, providing students with a wide range of pathways within a cohesive academic mission.
All Clarkson programs fulfill five core Student Success Skills—communication, critical thinking, technology proficiency, professional behavior, and diversity competency—that are woven throughout every program and assessed across the institution.
STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER
The Success Center provides students with a comprehensive set of academic support resources, including a writing lab, subject-specific tutoring, first-year mentoring, and personal counseling. These services are available to all students regardless of academic standing, reflecting Clarkson’s commitment to supporting the whole student, not just the highest performers.
A CLOSE-KNIT CAMPUS
Clarkson’s campus is intentionally small, and that intimacy is one of its defining strengths. Students, faculty, and staff know each other by name, and the shared focus on healthcare creates a strong sense of professional community and common purpose. Peer relationships formed in and out of the classroom tend to become professional networks that last well into a career.
STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
Clarkson’s student organizations give students a way to connect with peers who share their professional interests and build leadership skills alongside their academic ones. Program-specific groups like the Student Nurses Association at Clarkson College (SNACC), the Clarkson College Student Physical Therapist Assistant Association, and the Radiography Student Association offer students opportunities to engage with their disciplines beyond coursework, participate in community service and philanthropy, and build professional networks that extend well beyond the campus.
OMAHA
Clarkson’s location in Omaha gives students access to one of the Midwest’s most rapidly growing cities. A thriving restaurant and arts scene, a strong job market, and a deeply rooted sense of community make Omaha a place where students can put down roots during their studies and build a life well beyond graduation. The Nebraska Medicine campus sits near the heart of the city, putting students close to everything Omaha has to offer.
CAREER PREPARATION FROM DAY ONE
Career readiness at Clarkson is not treated as a senior-year concern. The college integrates professional development throughout the curriculum, with planned touchpoints across all four years designed to help students build self-awareness, develop workplace skills, and clarify their professional goals. Advisors are involved early and often, guiding students through program planning, licensure requirements, and career exploration.
