Engaged Students

“When I think back on the past four years, I can’t really think of many things that I would change. The school does such an incredible job that each student is able to find their niche and what interests them.” – Jackson Thiel ’25

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AND STUDY ABROAD
St. Norbert is known as one of the best colleges in the northern Midwest, particularly noted for service-learning and its strong international programs. SNC’s Center for Global Experience is dedicated to creating and enhancing international activities. Welcoming scholars from around the world, St. Norbert provides opportunities for students to engage with and learn from students from approximately 30 other countries.

About one in three St. Norbert students participate in a study-abroad program. And it’s easy to see why: St. Norbert partners with 50 international institutions of higher learning in 29 countries, offering a spectacular range of study-abroad opportunities in 75 locations around the world.

SERVICE-LEARNING
Service-learning—promoted by the leadership, service, and engagement office—is so deeply ingrained in the culture of St. Norbert that students regularly volunteer their efforts to several major projects every year. One residence hall is devoted especially to service, with each section performing its own year-long project. Fall and spring break alternatives offer many opportunities for involvement beyond the campus. St. Norbert ranks among the nation’s leading colleges for student participation. It was also admitted to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with distinction for its strong institutional commitment to service and community partnerships by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).

RESEARCH
Faculty-student research is common at St. Norbert, with numerous first-year students making two-year research commitments to a particular faculty or staff member through the college’s Research Fellows Program. Undergraduate research at SNC allows you to work collaboratively with one or more faculty members on real-world scholarly and creative projects.

Great Teaching

“The smaller class sizes definitely drew me in. The ability to make meaningful connections with my professors, the faculty and staff members, as well as just all the programs that are offered in terms of opportunities to grow in leadership and faith-based organizations, spirituality, it just really felt like a good fit all around in terms of academics as well as a place that I truly felt that I could shine and grow and be myself.” – Samantha Schnuell ‘24

ACADEMICS AT ST. NORBERT

The college offers a wide variety of living options, including all-freshman residence halls; themed housing for students interested in science, service, a particular foreign language, or other specific interests; and townhouses, carriage houses, and apartments for upperclassmen.

NORBERT COLLEGE PARISH
The religious life of the college is strong, with a number of student-run groups that are focused on faith and spirituality. Through worship, prayer, a supportive environment, and faith-centered programs, the college’s parish serves the entire community.

The St. Norbert College Parish provides opportunities for growing and maturing in the Catholic faith through liturgy, prayer, education, and faith formation. Everyone is welcome to join our parish family where we respect the religious traditions of other faiths, as well as the dignity of all God’s people regardless of gender, race, or way of life.

Successful Outcomes

“I always tell people that I wanted to go to a big school because I thought that would set me up better and it would look better. But in hindsight I don’t think I would have had as good of a time with law school applications if I’d stayed (at my previous school). And going to a school that fit me better actually made it 100 times easier in that process, because I enjoyed going here, I didn’t feel stressed here, I was able to be involved in more extracurriculars, work more, and get to know my professors in a way that helped me get better letters of recommendation and refine my application, and I feel like I was more prepared to do all those things.” – Hunter Van Asten ‘19

SURROUNDED BY SUCCESS
Internships are an important element of many St. Norbert students’ undergraduate experiences. Some participate in internships while on study-abroad trips, while others can take part in the Washington Semester at Catholic University. Internships are available in numerous local and regional businesses.

SUCCESS RATE
More than 94% of our students are employed or attending graduate school within nine months of graduating. This success rate is a result of the excellent reputation of St. Norbert graduates in the workplace and in graduate schools. Alumni play a role, too, serving as a reference point for student networking and placement.

“I knew I wanted to work with children, so education was the natural path at the time. St. Norbert allowed me to be in the classroom almost right away, working with kids all four years.” – Mallory Fritsch ‘23

ALUMNI
St. Norbert students have achieved notable success in many different fields. The late Robert John Cornell, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Wisconsin, was a St. Norbert graduate. Other notable alums include Washington Capitals’ head coach Spencer Carbery, Green Bay Packers’ photographer Vernon Biever, Congressman Tony Wied, and former Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt.

SNC also prides itself on staying connected after your days at SNC are over. We provide a lifetime of opportunities and services designed to keep you in touch and involved with what’s happening at your alma mater!

APPLICATION INFORMATION
You’re more than a list of test scores and transcripts and we see that. At St. Norbert College, we believe in your potential, your passion, and your future. That’s why our application process is designed to meet you where you are – welcoming, straightforward, and focused on what matters most: you.

There’s no application fee to apply. We’re also test-optional, because your growth can’t be summed up in a single number. And you won’t need to submit letters of recommendation or personal statements. We want to make it easy for you to take this next step.

We accept unofficial transcripts, so you can apply with what you already have in hand. If you’re a transfer student, we’ll also need transcripts from your college or university.

Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll hear from us within about two weeks. If you’ve built a strong academic foundation over six semesters of high school, you may receive an admission decision right away. Others may be asked to send us seventh-semester grades before a final decision is made. All admission offers are contingent on successfully completing your high school diploma.

Our admission decisions are thoughtful and personal. We look at your academic journey as a whole and not just the grades, but the choices you’ve made along the way. We value curiosity, challenge, and the courage to try something new. Most of our students have taken:

  • Four years of English (or equivalent)
  • Three years of math
  • Three years of science, history, and social sciences
  • Two or more years of a foreign language

No matter your path, we’re here to help you take your next bold step. You belong in a community that sees your potential and helps you realize it. You deserve a place where you can grow, discover, and become the fullest version of yourself.
