Great Teaching

REAL-WORLD READINESS
A Stevens education is designed to equip all students with the knowledge and skills that are ultimately needed to help them stand out in the job search and workplace. From the beginning, new students are afforded a first-year course in entrepreneurial thinking that gives them an early introduction to the complexities of innovation. Through the course, students conceive of new ideas and services, interact with experienced marketing professionals, learn strategy and finance, and finally present their projects to their professor and fellow students.

The entrepreneurial mindset continues throughout all four years of college; a majority of students conclude their senior year with  a Senior Design Project, a collaborative effort to plan and present new initiatives to a panel of professionals. Some projects have the potential to get picked up and created as real startups.

Vibrant Communities

STEVENS SERVICE
The Office of Undergraduate Student Life is an active force that prepares students to be impactful global citizens. Creating outlets at the local, national, and even international level, Stevens guides students to serve communities in need. Such programs at the Global Service Initiative and Alternative Spring Break connect students to their surrounding community to bring innovative and compassionate work beyond campus walls. The university also hosts an annual Volunteer Expo, which introduces students to community partners with whom they can serve.

THEMED HOUSING
In addition to a Greek life base of 16 fraternities and sororities, Stevens offers Special Interest Housing to students who share common passions and interests. The Lore El Center for Women is an all-female residence for those interested in women’s rights and empowerment, and the C.A.R.E House fosters an active community dedicated to continual service.

SCHOOL LOCATION
Stevens sits on the Hudson Riverfront in Hoboken, NJ. Nicknamed “Mile Square City” for its its small size, Hoboken’s small-town setting peers out to an exceptional view of the island Manhattan. The urban metropolis is only a short train ride away, allowing Hoboken residents to take advantage of the city’s shops, restaurants, and internship and career opportunities.

ATHLETICS
Stevens participates in Division III athletics and has fourteen different men’s and women’s athletic teams. Stevens’ student-athletes compete in the following sports:

Men’s: Baseball; Basketball; Cross Country; Golf; Fencing; Lacrosse; Soccer; Swimming; Tennis; Track & Field; Volleyball; Wrestling

Successful Outcomes

CAREER CENTER
The Stevens Career Center helps make success a reality for students and alumni. Staff members provide personalized guidance to each student upon their arrival as a freshman and all the way through to graduation. These Career Advisors help students decide what classes to take for their professional goals and map out a personalized course of action for their future. And thanks to its strong and proud network of alumni, Stevens runs an Externship Program that enables freshmen to spend their winter break shadowing an alum.

Experiential learning continues to be a hallmark of the Stevens experience, and it’s through the Career Advisors that every student has easy access to an internship, co-op, or ongoing undergraduate research opportunity to support their professional growth.
