INTERACTIVE AND PERSONAL EDUCATION
With more than 70 challenging academic programs in four accredited divisions (arts and sciences, business administration, education and allied professions, and engineering), you will find countless ways to explore your interests and prepare for your career. And no matter what your interests are, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning.

JUST YOUR SIZE
At the University of Dayton, learning doesn’t happen just for the sake of learning. It’s about making a difference right now, as an undergraduate. Recently, UD students have created solar-powered equipment to sterilize medical devices, designed cost-effective cargo planes using new composites, developed fitness programs for grade-schoolers, explored the complexities of urban education, and managed and invested nearly $11 million of the University’s endowment.

INTERNSHIPS AND RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
With a vast array of internships and cooperative education opportunities, UD students earn a professional foothold in the world well before earning their diploma. Fortune 500 companies regularly recruit students on campus, and the University also hires undergrads to work on cutting-edge projects at one of the best research organizations in the world — the University of Dayton Research Institute.

GLOBAL EDUCATION
Whether studying on campus or abroad, University of Dayton students have the chance to receive a truly global education. Through extensive education abroad programs, students travel to every continent except Antarctica and immerse themselves in new cultures, earn course credits and improve the lives of others.

CAMPUS MINISTRY
Whether you want to make a difference in the life of a child, work toward social justice, spend a week helping others or sleep under the stars during a wilderness retreat, you’ll find opportunities through Campus Ministry. Home to one of the nation’s largest campus ministry programs, the University of Dayton sponsors more than 30 student-run service clubs, retreats, BreakOut trips and more.

ACADEMIC CHALLENGE AND FRIENDLINESS
Making the world a better place begins one student at a time. That’s why the University of Dayton’s more than 800 faculty members create interactive learning environments.  With a student-to-faculty ratio of 15 to 1, UD classes ensure you receive personal attention and learn from professors who are experts in their field — prolific researchers and dedicated advisers who want you to succeed.

ONE-ON-ONE LEARNING
UD professors provide large quantities of one-on-one learning. In addition to hosting office hours, many professors give out their cell phone numbers and email addresses so students can ask questions — and get answers — at any time.

ACCOMPLISHED FACULTY
UD faculty members contribute significantly to society, from studying how to prevent defective toys from being resold online to briefing dignitaries visiting the U.S. Supreme Court. They’re frequently awarded grants and fellowships from world-class institutions, and they have been recognized for their excellence by several organizations, including General Motors Corporation, the National Institute of Education, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE (FYE)
To help students transition to college and maximize resources at the University of Dayton, all first-year students participate in the First-Year Experience (FYE). FYE includes a seminar offering an in-depth look at the university experience, development of a personal portfolio and professional résumé, and access to personal academic advising.

Vibrant Communities

PERSONAL ATTENTION
Walking through campus, you’re not the only one who feels right at home: approximately 90 percent of students live in residence halls or the student neighborhood. UD’s 373-acre campus isn’t just where you go to class; it’s your home.

FIRST-YEAR LIVING
First-year students live in Founders Hall, Marianist Hall, Marycrest Complex or Stuart Complex. After your first year, you might move into spacious apartments or suites — or one of the porch-clad houses in the student neighborhood.

ARTSTREET
With a recording studio, radio station, café and numerous creative spaces, ArtStreet is ready whenever creativity strikes. Students can even live in one of the modern condos or loft apartments — or just enjoy the concerts in the outdoor amphitheatre.

THE JOHN F. KENNEDY MEMORIAL UNION
The John F. Kennedy Memorial Union, or KU, is one of UD’s most popular gathering spaces. Whether you have a club meeting, are hoping to score concert tickets or just want to relax with friends, you’ll find what you’re looking for. You can also bowl a few frames or grab a soft pretzel from The Hangar, a game room.

RECREATION
At the RecPlex, a $25 million recreation center, you’ll find every athletic amenity imaginable, including an indoor pool, elevated track, climbing wall, the latest exercise equipment and a juice bar.

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES
With so many campus activities, there’s never a shortage of things to do. Students can paint themselves red and cheer on the Dayton Flyers — or join the action themselves, as 70 percent of students participate in intramurals and club sports.  Students can also host a show on Flyer TV, build and race a concrete canoe, march with the Pride of Dayton or join more than 180 clubs and organizations. On-campus entertainment, including comedy troupes, concerts and movies, and off-campus adventures like white-water rafting, are offered regularly.

DAYTON, OHIO
There’s also plenty to do in the city of Dayton. Located on the edge of campus, Brown Street offers a variety of shops and restaurants, and downtown offers a lively nightlife with coffeehouses, galleries, theater, music, minor league baseball and a laser-lit riverfront park.

Successful Outcomes
A University of Dayton degree is powerful preparation for whatever comes next: launching your career, gaining admission to graduate, law or medical school, or spending a year in service. Employers know that UD graduates have developed the skills and qualities they need to succeed, and Fortune 500 companies regularly recruit on campus.

FIRST-RATE OPPORTUNITIES
University of Dayton graduates consistently take jobs with the nation’s best firms and are accepted into top graduate programs. Many seniors receive multiple job offers months before graduation.

UD helps students prepare for their careers beginning on their first day on campus. From cooperative education and internships to on-campus recruiting, career advising and job-search strategies, Career Services assists students in exploring career interests, experiencing real work environments, and evolving in their chosen field.

HIRE-A-FLYER
Hire-a-Flyer is an invaluable online network that allows students to search job openings, post résumés, schedule interviews with employers and register for career-related events. Within this network, you’ll also find the Alumni Career Network, which connects you with UD alumni who offer advice on majors, careers, relocation and job responsibilities.
