Founded in 1891, the campus is home to over 3,300 undergraduate students who study a variety of academic majors. The university’s liberal arts, education, business, and science programs prepare graduates for lifelong learning.

A PROGRAM FOR EVERYONE
The University of La Verne comprises five colleges: College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, College of Health and Community Well-Being, and College of Law and Public Service.
La Verne offers many undergraduate majors that empower students to combine their academic interests with potential career choices. Many majors like criminology, kinesiology, child development, movement and sports science, or e-commerce are uncommon at other universities. The flexibility to double major, minor, or establish a concentration allows La Verne students to choose from all of the academic offerings at the University. No matter what, they are certain to be prepared for successful and productive lives after college.
OFF-CAMPUS LEARNING
Whether studying abroad, performing original research in the sciences, or engaging in hands-on internships, students often find themselves in stimulating environments that foster a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.
HONORS PROGRAM
Intellectually curious and creative honors students engage in activities that venture beyond traditional academia. They delve into the rich resources of greater Los Angeles, including film studios, technology centers, museums, churches, concerts, exhibitions, and lectures.

For example, Mike Bennett, an internationally known percussionist credits much of his success to his time spent with his La Verne music professor.

La Verne alumni can be found in every state of the union and in over 60 countries across the globe, distinguishing themselves in nearly every field. Thirty-four judges hold a J.D. from the College of Law. Additionally, many alumni are business owners, CEOs, or presidents who serve national and international corporations. City managers, police chiefs, city and county department heads, and many public management and law enforcement officials hold public administration degrees from La Verne.
Reflecting the high value the University places on service, many alumni are teachers, ministers, psychologists, and counselors. As a recognized leader in education since the 1920s, the University is proud to have produced 25% of California school superintendents.
There are distinguished alumni in the performing arts, many of whom have made significant contributions to the arts both in the classroom and in professional performance. Many alumni involved in communications fields hold positions in broadcast and print media in the competitive Los Angeles/Southern California market and include television and radio personalities. A number of former student-athletes have gone on to professional playing careers, with many more enjoying coaching careers spanning from prep to collegiate to pro competition.
