GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURS EXCHANGE (GE2)
Students can explore their creativity and entrepreneurship beyond the UMass Lowell campus and community through the Global Entrepreneurs Exchange (GE2) program. “Through my experience I have really grown to be a more motivated and confident character. I have had the opportunity to meet a variety of different people around the world and  immerse myself in their culture first hand. I can’t begin to express how rewarding this experience has been especially where I was able to get an internship here and stay an extra two months! I really can’t imagine my life without it.” – Gregory Ensom ’17

The Office of Student Activities and Leadership goes further to emphasize cultural, social, educational, and leadership opportunities through interactive student involvement.

SCHOOL LOCATION
Only a 40-minute drive from Boston, Lowell has many of its own historical and cultural flairs. From former mill buildings and cobblestone streets to a vibrant arts scene and hub for research centers, the city’s diverse resources are open for every student to indulge. Lowell’s abundant restaurants and shops bustle among the beautiful New England forestry, inviting curious minds to delve into all they have to offer.

ATHLETICS

Successful Outcomes

PROFESSIONAL CO-OPS
UMass Lowell offers co-op opportunities through the Professional Co-Op, Immersive Scholars, and Emerging Scholars programs.

Students in the Engineering, Science, and Business colleges are all eligible to participate in the Professional Co-Op, which allows them to experience their field in practice within a workplace setting.

Freshmen who qualify for Dean’s scholarships are also considered eligible for the Immersive Scholars program. This opportunity, a rare benefit for underclassmen, offers participants a paid research experience over the summer. Beyond this first-year research scholarship, the Emerging Scholars program enables students in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, & Social Science to conduct a yearlong research project alongside an esteemed faculty member.

UMASS INNOVATION
The Office of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development oversees several programs to encourage and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit. Through outlets for innovation and collaboration, the Difference Maker program, Idea Challenge, and three College Competitions maintain the drive for real-world change. It’s at UMass Lowell that society, the economy, and the environment are not just things to study, but things to assess and improve.
