College Highlights
A Wheaton education is largely tied to the Christian church, the values of which are implemented in every facet of the College experience. Wheaton is concerned with the success of its students—success that can be used to perpetuate and best live out those Christian values.
THE VALUE OF A LIBERAL ARTS EDUCATION
A liberal arts degree enriches the whole person, catering to and influencing every aspect of the individual. With this type of degree, students enter the workforce with a well-rounded repertoire of skills. They are prepared to handle any situation, no matter the circumstance. Ultimately, Wheaton recognizes one very important fact: an education should not be geared toward one specific thing; instead, it should encompass a plethora of ideas that spans across all disciplines.
RESIDENTIAL LEARNING
Students are highly encouraged to engage in residential learning because of the added educational benefits it offers. Such an environment fosters students’ abilities to learn outside of the classroom, enhancing their academic experience with the support of peers with the same academic goals.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
The values of the Christian Church are prioritized at Wheaton. Serving the needs of the Church is paramount regardless of profession. And, with a heart for progression, faculty and staff work to advance the Kingdom of God through education and practice. Students are encouraged to come together through love and commitment to Christ, as both the educational and personal aspects of Wheaton College come together to make an inclusive community, bound together by service and perpetuation of Christian ideals.
GLOBAL STUDY AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Even as students change location and gain new perspectives, they carry with them their commitment to the service of God. Wheaton offers its students several opportunities to travel abroad, the trips of which can take the form of international internships, semester-long study, and research initiatives that incorporate cross-cultural perspectives.

Wheaton has 203 full-time faculty members and a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1. Professors and staff have been referred to as “Godly” faculty members that are highly dedicated to perpetuating Christian values. Faculty work very hard to give students an education that both benefits society and leads to a meaningful Christian life.
FUNDING FOR EXCELLENCE
The Faculty Global Research Awards provide professors the opportunity to bring new cultural perspectives to the classroom through various funded research efforts. These funds make it possible for recipients not only to bolster and change their course curricula, but they also facilitate travel and research projects in which they often invite their students to take part. Students can benefit more directly from school funds through such grants as the International Internship Travel Grant and the Global Scholar award. These allow students to venture out into the world without worrying as much about finances, enabling them to focus on life-changing work experience or research in a different country.
STUDENT SERVICES
Wheaton has several student services to aid in student success. Most notable are the Writing Center and Academic and Disabilities Center, both of which are staffed by helpful tutors and advisors who support students who require extra support. The Writing Center helps students make and communicate academic arguments, and the Academic and Disabilities Center works with and advocates for students with disabilities that may affect either their performance in class or ability to navigate the campus.
A DIVERSE COMMUNITY
Wheaton embraces diversity, recognizing its importance in creating the ideal community—one where many backgrounds come together to form the academic discourse. This commitment to diversity is highlighted in the Community Covenant, which calls upon every Wheaton student and faculty member to collaborate with others in work, service, and worship. As a supportive campus of Christian scholars, Wheaton fosters an atmosphere that promotes both spiritual and intellectual growth.
SPIRITUAL LIFE
Wheaton’s chaplain succeeds in the crucial effort to further the spiritual journey of the entire Wheaton community. Each individual is inspired to grow in faith with the support of Wheaton’s Christian environment. A variety of events like worship provide the outlets through which to explore and gather in a community of comfort.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Wheaton has several clubs and organizations for students to choose from. These clubs range from service initiatives to special interest groups. While there are numerous options, students also have the chance to charter their own clubs to expand the scope of the community’s focus. The College Union also helps bond the community by organizing campus-wide events catered to every student in the College. Concerts and dances make Wheaton burst with activity!
Students also have the chance to get directly involved in the Wheaton experience. Through participation in Student Government, they are able to contribute to the establishment and implementation of a variety of projects, ranging from monitoring technology and finances to maintaining the community’s focus on maintaining diversity.

As a member of NCAA III, students can enjoy viewing or participating in riotous collegiate athletic events. They can also join a club or intramural sport for a more casual yet equally exciting activity. The College’s rec center is also equipped with the resources for anyone to exercise or take physical classes.
