College Highlights
With aspirations to own a public relations firm focusing on women-owned businesses, Thania Inoa De Jesus is a first-generation Albright College student studying business and communications while minoring in Spanish and art. Her employment as a campus ambassador and peer tutor, alongside positions with the Goggleworks Center of the Arts and State Farm, didn’t stop Thania from taking part in a study abroad experience in Spain or leading several campus groups, including the Visual Arts Organization, World Affairs Club, Arts Magazine, and Hispanic Culture Club.
“As a first-generation college student, I understand that I have an advantage that my family did not have; therefore it is important for me to make a difference,” said Thania. “I want to be able to help women through advertisement, product design, website design and more.”

PERSONALIZED EDUCATION
Albright students are challenged to see the world in different ways by professors who are dedicated mentors and experts in their fields. In fact, more than half of Albright’s students personalize their degrees by crossing or combining majors.
And with a close-knit community like Albright, students get to know their professors on an individual basis. Students in all programs are encouraged to work one-on-one with faculty mentors through programs like the Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE). They can also complete coursework and engage in travel while being led by faculty to such locales as Costa Rica, Ecuador, Hawaii, and more.
“As I was conducting that research at the Albright Early Learning Center, I remember thinking, ‘this is what I want to do,’ and I realized this was a new pathway that I hadn’t thought about before.” – Sarah Hohl, child development and Spanish major
“Albright’s my family. The people here look out for you. Albright is a unique community and understands that all the students who attend are unique, too. Don’t just find a school. Find family.” – Autumn Blalock, theatre and psychology co-major
THRIVING ON CAMPUS
Albright is a supportive, 24/7 residential community with more than 70 student groups, honor societies, clubs, Greek life, and a variety of affinity houses, with each offering opportunities for leadership and service. More than 30% of undergraduates participate on Albright’s 24 varsity athletic teams, all of which prioritize the quality of the educational experience and successful degree completion. And through Albright’s four-year shared community living experience, students are supported through a campus-wide effort to enhance their social, intellectual, and interpersonal growth. Such an effort has been shown to result in better grades and outcomes.
There are a large number of cultural and academic “Experience Events,” on campus as well, ranging from lectures and exhibitions to concerts and nationally recognized theatrical performances.
“Without a doubt, Albright [Theatre] has had an enormous amount of success in the last 15 years,” says Gregg Henry, artistic director of the national Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. “I’ve been around the block, and have seen all of the festival productions since 2000. And I look forward to what Albright brings to festivals each year, because they set the high bar for others.”

“The research I am doing is connected to my future plans, as it involves an organism that is related to another organism that causes a disease in Africa. I really want to focus on medicine and drugs that are able to affect those types of organisms, and essentially benefit public health.” – Jaquan Harley, biology major
