A computer science major originally from Medellín, Colombia, Julian Builes transferred to Hofstra after spending two semesters at Suffolk Community College, where his major was liberal arts. He expects to graduate with an honors distinction from Hofstra University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is taking a challenging curriculum and maintaining close to a 4.0 grade point average. After graduation, Julian aspires to be an entrepreneur in the technology sector, starting his own company and developing products that have a positive impact on people’s lives.
“I believe that HUHC has taught me to go the extra mile academically; work harder than usual, for longer than usual, hoping to get better results than the usual student. Consequently, this attitude has also made an impression in my personal life. I have become a hard working individual who is not afraid of failure but strives for excellence. I strongly believe that such traits have carved me into a better person that will positively be distinguished from the rest.”
