From student government to chemistry research to tennis to Greek life — Elise Helvie ’09 defined her Willamette University experience as much more than going to class.
Whether she was studying liquid-liquid systems in the lab or leading her Alpha Chi Omega sisters in a service project, Helvie was developing relationships and charting her future.
Her work paid off. After leaving Willamette, she enrolled in the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
Her goal is to serve others by helping them improve their health and self image.
“My Willamette education prepared me extremely well,” Helvie says. “I not only have a degree, but I also have a wide variety of skills — I know how to interact with people, how to give a presentation, how to write well.
“I took advantage of the opportunities I was given at Willamette, and was able to make myself the most diverse and well-rounded student that I could.”
