Live. Learn. Believe.

Good ground for your education: That's what Georgetown College delivers. With roots dating to 1787, GC was chartered in 1829 as a Christian liberal arts college affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Georgetown welcomes all religious faiths, is dedicated to academic excellence and inspires students to live, learn and believe as global citizens.

Engaged Students

Whether it's studying abroad or learning leadership skills at home, Georgetown College offers many opportunities for students looking to enhance their education with first hand experience...

Fostering Intellectual and Spiritual Development

  • Georgetown College has forged a unique agreement with Regent’s Park College of Oxford University to allow Georgetown students, faculty, and associates to participate in an academic partnership with Regent’s Park, the Baptist college at Oxford. The Regent’s Park College link enhances Georgetown College’s reputation as a center for innovative Christian thought and produces widespread benefits to both institutions. Students study under the rigorous tutorial method practiced throughout the Oxford system, and work side by side with students from all over the world.
  • Georgetown College offers academic programs in Asia, Australia and Europe, as well as North, South and Central America. Regardless of one's major or academic concentration, these programs add an important cross-cultural dimension to a liberal arts education. They are not limited to language study but provide over-seas opportunities for students in many different disciplines, from the natural sciences and pre-professional fields, to all areas of the humanities.
  • ACS-Approved. The Department of Chemistry at Georgetown College has received American Chemical Society-Approval and is one of only two private colleges in Kentucky to be so recognized. ACS-Approved programs offer a broad-based and rigorous chemistry education that gives students intellectual, experimental, and communication skills to become effective scientific professionals. In the past decade, 14 Georgetown College Chemistry graduates have gone on to graduate school in Chemistry, 9 to other non-medical graduate programs, 28 to medical, dental, or pharmacy school, and 22 directly entered the work force.
  • Spanish Immersion - New Offering. For students interested in improving their proficiency in the language, Georgetown College's Spanish Immersion Program will expand their knowledge of the culture and build a foundation for a globally-focused life. Non-native, heritage and native speakers of Spanish come together as one supportive community of learners. To experience immersion is to take language beyond the rote exercises of traditional foreign-language classrooms. Taking classes like mathematics or philosophy, all entirely in Spanish, moves the language off the textbook pages and transforms it into a living, natural form of communication, as well as a valuable learning tool.

Great Teaching

With 40 majors and 32 minors to choose from and with faculty that care, Georgetown College offers students an excellent and enriching education...
